At the Navoi Scientific Experimental Station, cotton plants sown in a single-row method with a 76 × 10 cm scheme showed an average height of 83 cm, 15–18 bolls per plant, a single boll weight of 5,8 g, a lint turnout of 41,5%, and a fiber length of 31 mm. Due to the high plant density in this variant, a relative slowdown in the development of vegetative organs was observed in some cases.
In the variant sown using the double-row Xinjiang method (76 × 10 cm), the plants were better supplied with light and nutrients. As a result, the plant height reached 90 cm, the number of bolls was 10–12 units, the single boll weight was 5,4 g, the lint turnout was 40,5%, and the fiber length was 30 mm. In this variant, the yield was 23 c/ha higher compared to the control variant.
This study investigated the effects of sowing the XLZ-57 variety using the double-row Xinjiang method and the singlerow method under a 76 × 10 scheme on plant growth, development, and productivity. Based on the experimental results, the impact of sowing methods on plant height, leaf count, yield components, and final productivity was determined, and the most effective sowing method was recommended.
